MÄRCHENSTUNDE

didactic game & interaction box – teaching values at primary schools

“Märchenstunde” (Fairy Tale Hour) is a teaching module that is intended to create a common basis of moral values. It supports the school, which takes on a large part of value education. The module aims to counteract problems of value disparity in schools, promote social and emotional skills and strengthen the community in order to improve the cognitive performance of young learners.

In the form of a game and interaction box, which can be used in German lessons at elementary school, it addresses the emotional level of children through didactic knowledge transfer and target group-oriented design. The values of empathy, helpfulness and gratitude are promoted and strengthened in the long term.

Fairy tales offer the possibility of a change of perspective, in which the behavior and feelings of fictional characters can be transferred to oneself. The box contains teaching material, tasks and games that use the core competences of fairy tales – in our case “Snow White and Rose Red” – and transport it through several media in a holistic teaching module.

Among other things, a pop-up, radio play, scene, question and situation cards, role plays and a facial expression game facilitate an active reflection with the values. Thus, a transfer to the real life of the pupils is created.
